Firefox Extension Permissions

Sorry for taking so long to respond, it took me a minute to write down my thoughts :-D

I want to start by saying that I was quite impressed with the extension and overall enjoyed using it. I can imagine switching to it completely in the future and paying for it. I find that when one writes down feedback, it always seems quite negative, because one tends to notice the negative stuff and not notice when something just works. So my experience has been positive and enjoyable overall :-)

I’ve tried to divide the feedback into my personal thoughts/preferences and what I think might be bugs.

Personal Thoughts

• love the play speed adjustments!

• the positioning of the subtitles is really good, I prefer it to LR's positioning

• the customisability of the subtitles’ look is great

• quick play settings on the play bar are very helpful

• I like the word highlighting, but it should be configurable in the play bar settings as well

• the pause at the end of a subtitle works pretty well!

• love the auto resume on the end of subtitle after pause feature!

• when I click on Home in the extension panel, it opens in a tab next to the current one and not on the end of my 100s of tabs...yay!

• dark theme present by default, thank god (or you :-D )

• not so sure about the side settings bar...I would expect those to be in the extension panel, this seems to take up unnecessary space on the screen

• the extension (clicking on the panel icon) seems to be completely separate from the play window overlay? don't understand why that is…

• the translation seems to be limited to the currently shown subtitle and sometimes doesn't make sense in the context of the whole text, but that's probably a problem with all such projects…

• support for HBO would make it perfect :-)

• support for books - both pasted texts and loading epubs - would make it absolutely perfect - I hope the Books tab means this feature is planned and coming! this would be the secondary feature keeping me with LR for now…

• pausing on hover is problematic when trying to adjust settings using the play bar settings or just generally watching the video - I would like to have that feature toggle in the play bar settings as well

• the overlay hides all native control buttons like next episode and skip intro...that's especially annoying for the skip intro button - the extension would need to be shut off, button clicked, and extension turned on again

• the overlay hides all the info that shows up on hover - like the name of the movie/episode that I'm currently watching - sometimes I want to see what episode I'm on - Netflix

• I wasn't able to convince the extension to use audio transcript-ed subtitles at all which is a big hit especially for dubbed content where native subtitles often don't match what's being said very well...this is the main reason I paid for Language Reactor Pro and the main reason I'm hesitant to switch to Fluently pro as off now...the book feature is more nice to have but matching subtitles are a must and if they were on Prime etc. as well this extension would be unbeatable...

My Testing Setup

• Firefox: 141.0.3

• MacOS: Sequoia 15.5

• FluentAI: 2025.129

• Permissions only for the four streaming sites (not the Amazon domains)

Possible Bugs

• the extension keeps logging me out all the time

• every time I log in through Google, I have to confirm the login again

• open platform button does not work on the extension panel

• I don't see anything in the video history despite watching several episodes

• button on Netflix/Youtube video asks for login again, even though I'm logged in to the extension panel, and I have to confirm the login again through Google, seconds after signing in to the extension

• Youtube video does not stop on click, it pauses for the duration of the click and then continues to play, with hover pause enabled

• question mark hover over quick play bar settings does not actually show the description of the feature, as it is written in the full settings window

• trying to change a keybinding to space bar leaves it empty and does not say space bar - it does not work on space bar after that - if this worked, it would fix the annoying Disney space bar issue :-D

• after selecting another video on YouTube, the speed is back up, but the setting panel says it's still the adjusted value, moving the speed setting fixes the issue

• the native control bar feature is a great idea, but it does not work...the control bar is shown for a moment, but isn't clickable and disappears immediately as if it's just hovered over

• not sure what the subtitles panel and translation panel settings are supposed to do, as nothing changes when I toggle them

• Netflix autoplaying the next episode turned off the extension

• tried to watch Her Majesty on Prime and the subtitles did not match at all (the official ones, they were shifted in time), when turning the extension off, the official Prime subtitles did match correctly

• the extension button quite often does not appear on the first load of an episode/movie and the player has to be refreshed to show it

• watching Clone Wars on Disney Plus did not show subtitles at all in the extension, even though there were original ones when the extension was turned off

• I was not able to convince the extension that the audio is not English multiple times, even though the audio playing was indeed switched to Spanish

I hope this is helpful, and again, I want to emphasize that I actually really liked the extension!

Hi! It’s because we are implementing the extension feature on all website, but how we count on doing it is to ask the user for permission instead of by default having it like that.

So, you’re totally right!

On another note, how has the experience been so far?
