Show word frequency ranking

I honestly don’t know how to source the data, but especially when early on a language journey, it would be great to see the frequency ranking of a word so that you can evaluate if it’s worth studying now or should be deprioritized in favor of more useful words. This data could also be useful for generating vocabulary lists from a video. For example, when starting a language I want to say focus on getting the first 650 high frequency words and studying them in context. After building some comfort maybe I want to expand my scope to the first 2000. Right now I might see an unknown word and bookmark it for review, but it could be a low value word that is ranked 20000th in frequency. For a longer term goal I’m imagining a ranked word cloud of the vocabulary in a video, that you can click on words and get a list of any phrases that contain the word, where you can click that subtitle phrase and jump to it.

Fluent Ai Dictionary/Translator

I think it would be awesome to have a separate Translator dictionary like Google translate. One that could be used on the website and from the extension. It would translate the word/sentence and give a translation, explanation and any related grammar just like the video subtitle Ai currently does. This would be used in order to look up any word at any time without having to find the word in a Youtube video/Netflix show. Would be cool if “Fluent Ai Translate“ could be used on any website or PDF form.

download learning language subtitles

Typically, using a language reactor, I download the Spanish (or the language I'm trying to learn) subtitles so that I can have ChatGPT isolate them into the main vocabulary words I need to learn so then I can upload them onto Quizlet and quiz myself before watching the movie. I can't do that on here. I can only download the English subtitles, which is pretty useless. I know I can just do the Google translate however I don't want the translations to be different from like the colloquial saying so being able to download in your learning language would be incredibly helpful for me even so if you have a different way of streaming the vocabulary that would be helpful as well

If its even possible to do, would be super cool if the system could also provide suggestions on what to watch based on your level :)

But regardless, I think that this plug in is so useful and much much better than others similar to it (I tried them all!) Thanks!

Selectable sentences and editing

The sentence bookmarking currently is grabbing subtitle blobs without a way to have a specific sentence. It would be nice if the subtitles were actually sentence aware and split that way, really. Short of that, maybe a way to select a sentence out to create a card.

Automatic Language Selection for Multilingual Learners

As someone learning multiple languages, I need to change the language setting each time I switch from a video in one language to another, since it always defaults to the last language used. It would be great if users could select the languages they’re learning, so that when a video’s audio matches one of those languages, it’s automatically selected.

Display of transliteration above the subtitles words (PINYIN, FURIGANA)

This feature will enhance the language learning experience by displaying transliterations (such as Pinyin for Chinese and Furigana for Japanese) directly above the corresponding words in the subtitles. This will help learners read and pronounce words more accurately without needing to look them up separately. Key Benefits: • Better Pronunciation Learning: Helps users associate sounds with written words effortlessly. • Enhanced Readability: Learners, especially beginners, can understand subtitles more quickly. • Reduced Cognitive Load: No need to pause or reference external sources for pronunciation. • Seamless Integration: Works alongside existing features like Dual Subtitles and Word Analysis. Implementation Details: • Enable/Disable Toggle: Users can choose to activate transliteration on supported languages. • Customizable Display: Options to adjust font size, color, and position. • Automatic or Manual Activation: • Auto-detection for supported languages (Chinese, Japanese, etc.). • Option for users to manually enable transliteration when needed. • Compatibility: Works across streaming platforms supported by FluentAI. Supported Languages (Initial Phase): • Mandarin Chinese → Pinyin • Japanese → Furigana Future Considerations: • Expansion to other languages using different scripts (e.g., Korean Hangul with Romanization, Russian with Phonetic Transcription). • AI-assisted pronunciation assistance with text-to-speech integration.

Allow modification of each app prompts, word analysis, context explanation etc

This feature request aims to empower users with greater control and personalization over the AI-driven learning experience within FluentAI. It proposes the ability to modify and tailor the following key elements: Prompt Modification: Users should be able to adjust the prompts used to generate word translations, definitions, context explanations, and other AI-powered insights. This enables: Specificity: Tailor prompts to match specific learning goals. For example, a user might want a more technical explanation of a word in a scientific context, or a more colloquial explanation for everyday conversation. Learning Style: Adjust the tone and complexity of the explanations to suit individual learning preferences. Some users might prefer concise definitions, while others might prefer more detailed and nuanced explanations. Advanced Learning: Modify prompts to ask for specific grammatical structures, synonyms, antonyms, or cultural nuances related to a word or phrase. Word Analysis Customization: Expand the word analysis feature to allow users to control what aspects of a word are displayed and prioritized. This includes: Selectable Data Points: Choose which linguistic information is displayed (e.g., part of speech, etymology, frequency of use, grammatical gender, conjugation tables, declension tables, etc.). Customizable Display: Arrange and prioritize the information presented based on user preferences. Integration with External Resources: Allow users to link to external dictionaries, grammar references, or other online resources for deeper analysis. Context Explanation Modification: Provide users with the ability to influence how context explanations are generated. This includes: Adjusting the Level of Detail: Control the depth and complexity of the context provided. A user might want a brief overview of the cultural background or a more in-depth exploration of the historical or social context. Selecting Focus Areas: Specify which aspects of the context are most relevant to the user's learning goals. For example, a user might be interested in understanding the idiomatic usage of a phrase or the emotional subtext of a scene. User-Generated Context: Allowing users to add their own notes or explanations to provide supplemental context to themselves or other learners. Benefits: Personalized Learning: Tailors the learning experience to individual needs, preferences, and learning styles. Deeper Understanding: Encourages a more thorough and nuanced understanding of language by enabling exploration beyond basic definitions. Increased Engagement: Empowers users to take ownership of their learning process and actively participate in shaping their learning experience. Accelerated Learning: By focusing on relevant information and learning at their own pace, users can achieve their language learning goals more quickly. Improved Retention: Customizing the learning experience makes it more engaging and memorable, leading to better retention of information. Implementation Considerations: User Interface: Design a clear and intuitive interface for modifying prompts and customizing word analysis and context explanation features. Flexibility: Provide a wide range of customization options to cater to diverse learning needs. AI Model Integrat
